Fabrics of the Future: The Touch of Eco Fashion

At GREEN CULT, we don't just create clothing — we are shaping a new culture of consumption. Our collections are a blend of aesthetics, comfort, and deep responsibility towards the planet. We choose only those fabrics that are environmentally friendly, safe for the body, and support the idea of sustainable development. In this article, we will tell you why these materials have become the foundation of our collections and how they benefit both you and nature.

Eucalyptus (TENCEL™): The Smart Fabric of the New Generation

TENCEL™ is one of the most innovative textile fibers of modern times, created from eucalyptus wood. This fabric emerged at the end of the 20th century when the Austrian company Lenzing developed a technology based on nanocellulose fibers, allowing the production of soft, breathable, and simultaneously durable fabrics with minimal environmental impact.

For the first time in textile production, nanotechnology was applied to create fibers with a smooth surface capable of regulating moisture, temperature, and providing exceptional softness. Thanks to this innovation, TENCEL™ is now considered one of the most delicate and functional fabrics in the world.

Benefits for the Human Body

- Hypoallergenic: Eucalyptus fabric is ideal for people with sensitive skin, allergy sufferers, and even infants. It does not irritate the skin, does not accumulate dust and bacteria.

- Supports the Respiratory System: Due to the antibacterial properties of eucalyptus fibers, TENCEL™ is used even in the production of bedding for people with breathing problems — asthma, bronchial sensitivity, dust allergies.

- Thermoregulation: The fabric breathes, quickly wicks moisture from the skin's surface, leaving a pleasant feeling of dryness and freshness even in heat.

- Softness and Silkiness: TENCEL™ has a natural shine and feels on the body like something between silk and cotton — gentle, light, without friction.

- No "Cling" Effect: Unlike polyester fabrics, this material does not electrify and therefore will never put you in an awkward position (when the fabric sticks to the body).

Environmental Impact

- Certified origin: The eucalyptus wood used to produce TENCEL™ is grown on dedicated plantations without harming wildlife, and holds FSC and PEFC certifications.

- Closed-loop production: 99% of the water and solvents used in the process are purified and reused, making it a near zero-waste system.

- Fewer resources — more benefits: Eucalyptus grows faster than most other trees and does not require irrigation or pesticides, significantly reducing pressure on ecosystems.

- Biodegradability: TENCEL™ fibers fully decompose in natural environments without leaving behind microplastics or toxins.

Hemp fabric: the power of tradition in a modern form

Hemp fabric has deep roots in Ukrainian history, used since ancient times and representing an essential element of traditional textile craftsmanship. Thanks to modern cultivation and processing technologies, hemp textiles have become more accessible and versatile in their properties. Importantly, in our collections we use hemp fabrics produced in Ukraine, which not only supports local manufacturers but also reduces the ecological footprint, as the material is grown and transported solely within the country.

Benefits for the Human Body

- UV protection: Hemp fabrics are natural shields against harmful ultraviolet rays due to their fiber density and structure. The fabric effectively blocks up to 97% of UV radiation, making it an excellent choice for those seeking protection from sunburns. This is confirmed by studies proving hemp fabric’s high anti-UV properties.

- Hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties: Hemp fabric does not cause allergic reactions or skin irritation, making it ideal for people with sensitive skin or prone to dermatological issues. It also has natural antibacterial and antifungal qualities, making it a healthy and skin-friendly textile choice.

- Thermoregulation and comfort: Hemp fabric is highly breathable, supports natural heat exchange, and is suitable for all seasons. It keeps you cool in the heat and warm in colder temperatures, providing exceptional comfort for everyday wear.

- Durability and longevity: Hemp textiles are known for their exceptional strength and resistance to wear. They do not deform or deteriorate with washing and maintain their original shape and quality for many years.

Environmental Impact

- Eco-friendly cultivation: Hemp cultivation does not require chemical fertilizers or pesticides, helping preserve nature and support environmental sustainability.

- Energy-efficient production: Hemp grows quickly and requires minimal water, making it a low-energy crop compared to many other plants.

- Biodegradability: Hemp fabric is fully biodegradable, leaving no microplastics or harmful residues in the environment.

- Local sourcing and minimal carbon footprint: Since we use hemp fabric that is both grown and produced in Ukraine, transportation emissions and carbon footprint are significantly reduced. This supports local producers and promotes a more sustainable supply chain.

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is a natural fiber grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs. Unlike conventional cotton—which is considered one of the most polluting crops in the world—organic cotton is cultivated with respect for the soil, water, and the people involved in its production. This approach helps preserve biodiversity and ensures safer working conditions for farmers.
To confirm the fabric's ecological integrity and safety, manufacturers undergo international certification—particularly GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), which guarantees compliance with high standards of sustainable production.

Benefits for the Human Body

- Hypoallergenic. Organic cotton contains no residues of harsh chemicals, making it suitable for people with sensitive skin, allergy sufferers, children, and babies.

- Breathable properties. It allows air to circulate well and helps maintain a comfortable body temperature in the heat, without causing excessive sweating.

- Softness and comfort. This natural fiber has a pleasant texture that becomes even softer with each wash—without losing its quality.

- Durability. With proper care, clothing made from organic cotton lasts longer than synthetic or blended fabrics.

Environmental Impact

- No Chemicals: Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic fertilizers or pesticides, reducing soil and water contamination.

- Less Water: Organic cotton requires up to 91% less water than conventional cotton (according to Textile Exchange).

- Lower Carbon Footprint: Due to the natural growing method and reduced reliance on energy-intensive production, organic cotton has a lower carbon footprint.

- Supporting Healthy Ecosystems: The ban on GMOs and chemicals helps preserve biodiversity in growing regions, supporting local flora and fauna.

Organic Linen

Linen is one of the oldest textile materials in the world, used since the times of Ancient Egypt, and it remains popular today due to its durability, simplicity, and natural qualities.
Organic linen differs from conventional linen in that it is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. No chemical treatments are used in the production of organic linen, making it environmentally clean and safe for health. This not only protects the soil from contamination but also reduces water usage. Compared to traditional linen, organic linen has a significantly lower environmental and health impact.
At GREEN CULT, we work only with trusted suppliers who provide certified organic linen from Europe. The fabric meets quality standards and carries certifications such as GOTS or EU Organic, guaranteeing its ecological origin.

Benefits for the Human Body

- Antibacterial properties. Linen naturally resists bacteria and fungi, making it especially suitable for clothing worn close to the body or in the summer.

- Thermoregulation. It cools the body in summer and retains heat in winter, allowing the skin to "breathe."

- Hypoallergenic. Linen fibers do not irritate the skin, cause allergies, or accumulate dust, making it ideal even for people with sensitive skin.

- Durability. Organic linen is strong, long-lasting, and becomes softer over time without losing its appealing appearance.

Environmental Impact

- Minimal water consumption. Flax does not require irrigation — it receives sufficient moisture from rainfall, significantly reducing its water footprint.

- No chemicals. Organic flax grows without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, keeping the soil fertile and clean.

- Complete utilization. All parts of the flax plant can be used: fibers for fabric, seeds for the food and cosmetics industries, and the leftovers as fertilizers.

- Biodegradability. Flax is a fully biodegradable material that does not pollute the environment even after the product's lifecycle ends.
